Opportunities

Opportunities

Employer engagement is a key aspect of our Business Partnership and can include: mentoring activities, work experience, guest speakers, links to alumni, careers conventions and networking events.

Partners have the opportunity to get involved in any of these careers related events.

Please contact the business partnership team if you would like to get involved: businesspartnership@lsp.org.uk

Teatime Networking

Teatime Networking Sessions are held for students in Year 9-13 and involve employers and professionals from different industries offering advice on how to break into their industry of work. Past themes include engineering, creative industries, science and construction

Mock Interviews

During Year 10 students have the opportunity to sharpen their employability skills at a Mock Interview event. Students will be tasked with selecting and applying for a virtual job of their choice, creating a CV and taking part in a formal interview with a local industry professional. Following the interview they will receive verbal and written feedback from the employer.

Work Experience

One of the ways we make the connection between education and the world of work is enabling our students to develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed through work experience.

Year 10 work experience is a great opportunity for students to practice employment skills they will need in their future working lives and investigate careers they might be interested in.

Our secondary schools are always looking for businesses that would like to get involved.

Careers Conventions

During the year, businesses and organisations can attend a Careers Convention event at one of our three secondary schools. This event allows pupils from Years 9 –13 the opportunity to meet with a range of different businesses and to learn more about their options for higher education, apprenticeships and to get more information about future career choices.
