About Lighthouse Schools Partners

The Business Partnership was established in 2015 as Gordano Partners and has since expanded to incorporate all three secondary schools in the Lighthouse Schools Partnership: Gordano School, Backwell School and Chew Valley School with all schools rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

This exciting development sees the business partnership continue to grow and provide further business and career opportunities for over 4500 students across the Trust.

Closing the gap between business and education

Businesses have identified a number of reasons for working with schools. These include helping to close the gap between their needs and education provision, making sure enough young people are thinking about careers in their sectors and improving recruitment as part of their commitment to the local communities in which they operate.

Employer Engagement

Employer engagement is a key aspect of our Business Partnership and can include: mentoring activities, work experience, guest speakers, links to alumni, careers fairs and networking events.

Raise your community profile

Partners have the opportunity amongst other benefits to increase their community profile, get involved in business and careers related events, receive invites to business partnership events and exclusive partnership discounts on lettings of school facilities.
